What Is Cold-Pressed Juice? Benefits, Process, and Why It Matters

You've probably seen "cold-pressed" on juice labels and menus everywhere. But what does it actually mean, and is there a real difference? The short answer: yes, and it's significant.

How Cold-Pressed Juice Is Made

Traditional juicers use fast-spinning blades (centrifugal juicers) that generate heat and introduce oxygen into the juice. That heat and oxidation breaks down enzymes and nutrients before the juice even hits your cup.

Cold-pressed juicing uses a hydraulic press to slowly crush and squeeze fruits and vegetables. No blades, no heat. The result is juice that retains more vitamins, minerals, and enzymes than conventional methods — and tastes noticeably fresher.

Why "Daily" Matters

Even cold-pressed juice loses nutritional value over time. Many juice brands press in bulk, pasteurize with high-pressure processing (HPP), and ship bottles with a shelf life of 30–45 days. By the time you drink it, the juice may be weeks old.

At Golden Juicery, all of our juices are cold-pressed in-house on a daily basis. We press what we need each morning so you're getting juice at peak nutrition — not something that's been sitting in a warehouse.

Our Cold-Pressed Juice Menu

Every juice on our menu is built around specific benefits:

  • Lean Green — apple, celery, kale, parsley, lemon. A clean green juice for daily nutrition.
  • Immune Tonic — pineapple, lemon, turmeric, ginger. Anti-inflammatory and immune-supporting.
  • Vibrant — beetroot, carrot, apple, ginger, lemon. Great for circulation and energy.
  • Green Cleanse — cucumber, celery, kale, spirulina, parsley, lemon. Our deepest green juice.
  • Blue Lagoon — blue spirulina, apple, cucumber, lemon. Antioxidant-rich and refreshing.
  • Hydrate — cucumber, celery, lemon. Simple, hydrating, and alkalizing.

All juices are 12oz and priced at $12–$13. We source organic wherever possible, and when we can't, we use only Grade A produce.

Cold-Pressed vs. Smoothies — What's the Difference?

Juicing removes the fiber and gives you a concentrated dose of vitamins and minerals that your body absorbs quickly. Smoothies keep the whole fruit and fiber, making them more filling. Both have a place — it depends on what your body needs that day.

At Golden Juicery, we serve both, so you can mix and match based on how you're feeling. Pair a juice with a toast for a light breakfast, or grab a smoothie when you need something more substantial.
